Artist Statement

I enjoy making art and try to do so everyday. Painting since 2007, I’ve been inspired by many topics and types of media. My online gallery includes works in oils, oil pastels, digital illustration, and my current favorite: watercolor. I have been training with Jeff Good to improve my watercolor ability and find that his classes inspire and challenge me to loosen up. My ‘coder’ background (now retired) has made it difficult for me to loosen up, but time and practice are softening my edges.

I feel fortunate to have landed on Vashon (Maury Island, actually) for retirement, where I am content to make art and tend to my gardens and property. I look forward to spending more time with the art community, especially VIVA, meeting more people and making more art.
