Third Annual Members Show – 2020

VIVA’s annual Members Show invites our members to showcase one or two of their pieces. This year’s show boasted participation by 100 Vashon artists from our nearly 300 members. This exciting exhibit reflected the diversity of work and approach to art being created on Vashon Island. The show was held the Vashon Center for the Arts Gallery, October 2-31, 2020.

This year is the first time Vashon Center for the Arts has hosted the show. The tall atrium walls and the Koch Gallery enabled VIVA artists the ability to display larger works than in previous years including examples of photography, paintings, prints, assemblage work and drawings. In addition, the atrium and gift shop provided more floor and display space for sculptures, pottery, jewelry and fiber arts.

When asked about the 2020 VIVA Membership show, Jean Echevarria, co-curator with the show’s organizer Kristen Reitz-Green, said, “The quality of work showcased this year is remarkable. In spite of all the adversities in 2020, the artistic heart of Vashon continues!”

The Show surprised and delighted those who come into the VCA Gallery.

VCA is located at 19600 Vashon Highway SW, at the corner of Cemetery Road and Vashon Highway. Open Thursdays through Sundays from 12:00 – 4:00. Guests from off-Island should check ferry schedules from Tacoma (Pt. Defiance) and from West Seattle (Fauntleroy).
