Artist Statement
Local people and places on Vashon are my favorite subjects to paint in watercolors. I have lived here almost 20 years and still find abundant subject matter on the island. My background is in environmental design and graphics, and I spent many years designing gardens. I spent a lot of time in Maine growing up, and the beautiful green forests of the Pacific Northwest remind me of where my first inspiration to paint came from.
